You have to turn on freezing. Open the Prefs roll, and find the freezing
options. In there, you turn on freezing. You may also have extra options,
depending on the package installed.

As for mail, I cannot imagine not having the mail option--unless you have
"Hide-eworld" installed _and_ SimpleMail not installed properly. Is
SimpleMail in your extensions folder? You also want to make sure that
SimpleMail is installed on the internal store, and not a card. In reality,
it shouldn't matter, but it may be a problem on your Newton.

As for 3. Is it a network printer or serial? Does it need the Print Pack?
Does it show up on the list of "Select Other Printer"?
