OK, I've tried most everything I can think of.
I got some great tips from this list but it'd not enough for this old
fart. I got the Airport base station name set to Newton (both the
identity and network name.) WEP is off and set to channel 11. I got the
AP set set to DHCP. I'm using Alpha 2 driver on the Newt and I get a
nice prompt when I insert the WiFi card telling me that a Lucent
WaveLAN/IEEE has been inserted. Checked used card for Appletalk. (What
do you type in under the Setup button?) I have the Newt Internet setup
for DHCP. I have used an earlier driver in ad-hoc and connected to
another Mac without to much trouble but I'm getting frustrated trying to
get the AP base station to work.
Can someone who's got this working send a detailed list of their setup
with how they got it all config'd? I'd really love to get this working
especially at work so I can turn some heads...
I've done a pretty extensive search on the web and I haven't run across
anywhere where someone has posted detail config setup on how to get this
all working with a base station. (saw the old one for ad-hoc... very
helpful.)
