I've had to do that on a couple of occasions... I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who had hit wits about him. I used the blue backlight from my Motorola StarTAC as a flashlight to get out of a building that had lost power (in pitch black, it nearly lit up the entire hallway!), and I've done the same with my Newton stumbling through my house!

130 has a backlight, which is useful. Not only can you see the newton screen
in the dark, but you can find stuff in the dark. Like stuff that accidentaly
fell into a garbage dumpster, or like when we had a power outage at work and
my uber cool "building without windows" was pitch black. I know I got out :)
