Indeed. I think that one of the cells might be dead or at least loosing
capacity, which is the normal fault after some dozens of recharges. The cel=
l
might not keep up with the higher current consumption on starting and the
defective cell might develop a higher resistance under higher load. I don't
believe that the Newton is fooled by the NiMH cells in the battery
compartement because its battery level meter is based on the voltage
measured across ALL four cells. Frank Gr=FCndel got measurements of the MP2k
accu capacity reading vs. accu voltage from me. I think that any error of
the meter display results in differences of the voltage only and is
completely independant on the accu capacity. I made also the experience wit=
h
the high capacity cells that the meter reading in principle is not so bad
and behaves as it did with the original NiMH accu, except the longer time
:-)
