Use "Newton Connection Utilities". Select "Export" from the "Move
information to your desktop computer". You should be presented with a list
that will have the Notepad in it. Select it, and then you will have the
ability to select which notes will be exported to your desktop. Open the
exported notes in any word processor as a text only document.

If you want to retain some text formatting, use NewtonWorks and "NewtonWorks
Export" instead. The resulting file will be a RTF (Rich Text Format) file
which you should be able to open in any decent word processor.

code police n.: [by analogy with George Orwell's `thought police'] A
mythical team of Gestapo-like storm troopers that might burst into one's
office and arrest one for violating programming style rules. May be used
either seriously, to underline a claim that a particular style violation is
dangerous, or ironically, to suggest that the practice under discussion is
condemned mainly by anal-retentive weenies. "Dike out that goto or the code
police will get you!" The ironic usage is perhaps more common.
