The Pocket Reader has a serial port in the shape of a 2.5mm stereo jack
socket and I use their own cables to configure a Mac DIN serial connector at
the other end.

That plugs into the MP2K dongle and Eric's software handles the comms to the
pen and downloads the data.

The same cable plugs into the Mac and uses Siemens own SW to perform the
download (looks like a port from the PC and is not that great). On the Mac
the data transfer is instant, on the Newt it's slower but works fine.
