That is very strange. Since 1993, I think that's the first time I hear about
something like that.

I don't have any solution, unfortunately. The only thing I can suggest, and
it's a little extreme, would be to perform a backup, do a "hard reset", then
try to see if the Mail option is back. If so, then reinstall any package you
need, one by one, checking after each installation if the option is still
there. Then, you could restore only the data (not the packages) from your
backup. Make sure you don't restore the system information. I'm guessing
that this problem is caused by the system soup being corrupted or having
been modified by some package. BTW, now that I'm mentioning this, you could
use a soup editor and completely delete the system soup. Do a soft reset and
test to see if the Mail option is again available. If not, then the only
option, AFAIK, would be to proceed with the hard reset. Beware that if you
delete the system soup, you'll lose a lot of preferences, and many
registration codes for custom applications you did install (gotta keep those
registration codes somewhere!). <Shameless plug>If you keep your
codes/passwords in GeekSafe, you can easily export those codes in the
Notepad, where you can then export them to your computer using
NCU.</shameless plug>!
