Thanks for the post about Fieldwork; I have been thinking again of buying
NSBasic sometime and writing my own interface to display NMEA coordinates.
I don't need all the map displays etc like GPSLite will provide, I have the
GIS software on the desktop to do all my analysis and maps.

If anyone else has been thinking of getting a dGPS capable receiver you
might wish to look at the Lassen LP from Trimble. It's powered by 9V
battery, does dGPS so it has useful resolution (for science stuff, not
just driving to the store you've never visited yet), and you can get it
bare board with TTL outputs and put your own TTL-->RS232 convertor on it,
or you can by a "black box" module that's already wired and ready to go.
It does NMEA as well as the Trimble specific output modes.
Anyway I should get one this summer and will see what we can do....in fact,
I may just order one this weekend now that I think about it.

Along this line, there's also a nice summary of GPS softwares for mac,
newton, etc at:
 <http://www.gpsy.com/gpsinfo/software.html>

Anyone know about the Teletype software for Newton? Any real links for it
seem to be gone, at the www.teletype.com site. It seems like I recall some
talk a long time ago, but I can't get to the list archve search page at the
moment....
