I posted once or twice ages ago re: an email thread between myself and a
tech support person there (I was trying to figure out if any of the newer
printpack cables might possibly work).
It's not just a cable, there's a chip and buffering and "things" going on
(not super technical, but that's the info I got :).
The tech support (Infowave then, now it's someone ELSE yet that own the
printpacks, I think) was very helpful and broke down all the revisions that
would/would not work with the MP.
IIRC, the only ones that should work are the Apple branded PowerPrint, and
the GDT Powerprint ones. Any Infowave ones won't work. And there was (I
think I remember) one other model of GDT that wouldn't work.
Paul, I recall you once said you saved all the digests etc; if you have
stuff from a couple years ago and grep the whole mess for GDT or infowave,
you might find the letter from their tech support that I posted here. It's
not with me any longer, I'm afraid.
I'll see if I can find who I was emailing with but since the product has
changed hands yet again, I figure the chances of finding a techie who knows
the GDT days are increasingly slim.
