I always (and it saved me more'n once) on the Mac desktop drag the book
I'm working on into a folder named "bookname backup".
Each time I'm asked "an older version...etc." "do you want to replace
it". I answer yes. I do this after each save. This way, When Newton
Press dies and corrupts a book (90% of the time after pasting or adding
a picture) I've only lost minimal work.

As for adding a graphic, here's an interesting tip. I sometimes have
problems pasting from (insert graphics app here) into Newton Press, but
rarely from one book project to another.

To avoid crashes (or crashes that could corrupt what you're working on)
be sure the graphic is the proper size, and 4-bit greyscale. Copy and
paste into AN EMPTY BOOK. This will succeed around 98-100% of the time.
Then save the one picture book. Copy the picture from this book; close
the book; open the project you want the picture in, and paste. Success.
