Did you say you had both patch files installed?
Seems like I had a similar problem a while back when I was trying to get my
Newton set up so that I could switch back and forth between my Farallon card
that I use at home and a 3c589d at work. After installing the patch it
wouldn't recognize my Farallon card anymore but worked with the 3c589d fine.
If I remember right I had to delete the patch and then delete and reinstall
the Farallon driver. So it seems that the the patch overwrote the
recognition string for the Farallon card rather than 'adding' to the list of
acceptable cards. I haven't repeated this to be sure about. But it
suggests to me that maybe the two patch files conflict with each other and
you should try using only the one for your card.
