All the Newts.(OMP-2x00) are hard plastic cases. They all have a 'rubberized' finish. I've openned all of my Newts., each case bends. I've even worn off some of the rubberized finish to a hard and reflective plastic casing. BTW, the magnet does not stick to my Newts.
