A while ago Paul Guyot (i believe) wrote about Apples numbering scheme as
follows:

xxyzzz

where
xx = Model number (74 = 2100german)
y = Year and
zzz= Day in year of upgrade issued.

So at least the first 2 digits of the patch version _should_ have to line
up with the system ROM versions first 2 digits.
