Two remarks to explain this behavior:
516263 means US-MP120/2.0, 263th day in 1996 (October 31, 1996)
cf
ftp://ftp.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_Amer
ican/Newton/For_Mac_OS/MessagePad_System_Updates/MP_120_2.0_516263_US.txt

526061 means US-MP130, 61th day in 1996 (March 2, 1996)
526205 means US-MP130, 205th day in 1996 (August, 21, 1996)
cf
ftp://ftp.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_Amer
ican/Newton/For_Mac_OS/MessagePad_System_Updates/MP_130_2.0_526205_US.txt

(cf the FAQ for more information concerning the numbering system)

If you really have a MP130, 516263 should not have been installed on it
(and anyway, it would have refused to install), and if it did, the OS won't
work anymore.
If you have a MP120/2.0 (which I highly suspect), no 52xxxx software could
be installed.

Well, you can try to get rid of 516263 by removing all batteries for a
while (this would erase everything including first blocks of the Internal
Store where the update lies).

Second remark:
All system update install over the previous installed one. Hence, no need
to install previous update, just install the last one. (this is explained
in ther read me files).

Regards,

Paul
