RE: NTLK Problems retaining pen alignment

I had big problems keeping my pen alignment. Sugested here and on
alt.comp.sys.newton that it could be dirt, humidity and/or static causing
it. At one point I could no longer use my newton because of it. So I stopped
using it for a couple of months (with batteries in it, and always refreshing
them when needed). And then - the amazing thing - I started using it again
and am doing so for a couple of months and everything is allright again: no
wrong pen alignment, no squiggles. Amazing.

Could anyone tell me what this could be? Has anyone experienced the same
thing?

It seems, more and more lately, I've been having to re-align my pen on my
MP2K. And it's seems the alignment is different in each app. Any one else
seen this behavior? Any suggestions?

Thanks,
