Why don't you drop Simon Bell a note. He is really responsive to such reports and since 4.0 b3 is still in beta, he'll appreciate the feedback. I have been using 4.0b3 very satisfactorily but there is a slight speed penalty when compared to SM 3.3 as expected if you use filters.
