On another note. I have NoBirthday installed and that helps with the
endless repeating dates, but I would like to have a utility that goes
through my name file, lists all the birthdays. and then I could put
them up for the next year or not. I seem to remember something like
this that also calculated the age. any idea what it was?

It's called DateReminder. I have version 2.3. It allows you to sync Birthdays from Names and yes, the age is shown. I seldom use it now since AddressAccess (5-Star IMO) shows the age on Cards where birthdays are present.
